Then people started pushing me to stream too, so I said I would after I hit 50 followers. I made friends in a lot of communities, streamers were asking me to play games with them because I'm a fun silly person (I called myself a stream Enhancer). I never went below a 20 viewers average on any of my streams once I started. TL/DR: 5-10 min is fine 30+ min is too much to be "starting soon." The response was a handwave of "I need to make sure all my viewers are here" which, with that streamer, is code for "I'm waiting for a specific person to appear in chat so THEY don't miss ANYTHING." don't advertise starting with a ping and then be on starting soon for an hour. And when I, as one of the long time viewers and former moderator, was like (privately in DMs). There is one streamer I know who will ping, and then is on "Starting Soon" for nearly an hour and do BRBs for almost an hour. And it gives us a chance to settle in and be ready to go. For example, if I'm being pinged in a discord "Stream is starting" and it's on "Starting Soon" for like 5 min, I'm cool with that - Gotta have some time to set up, do self promos, get the hair looking good, I get it.
